The park is also home to several bird species such as the elusive shoebill, African Wattled Plover, Long-crested Eagle, Augur Buzzard, papyrus Gonolek, fish eagles, Cattle Egret, Giant Kingfisher, Long-toed and Water Thick-knee, Sacred and Hadada Ibis, Fan-tailed Widowbird and Caruthers Cisticola African Openbill stock, Grey Crowned Crane, Giant Kingfisher, papyrus Gonolek, Senegal Lapwings, Hamerkop, and Pied Crow, Black-headed and Viellot’s Black Weavers among others.
