A-STEP
The Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP) is a comprehensive training initiative designed for aspiring sleep technologists. Administered by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), A-STEP provides the foundational knowledge and skills required for a career in sleep medicine. It includes an introductory course followed by a series of online modules covering sleep disorders, polysomnographic techniques, patient care, and therapeutic interventions. A-STEP is a recognized pathway toward certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). By completing A-STEP, participants gain essential education and clinical preparation to excel in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, contributing to better patient health outcomes.
