Banks and insurance companies have Rs 49,000 crore unclaimed.

New Delhi: Banks and insurance companies have about Rs 49,000 crore in their accounts with no creditors. As on December 31 last year, the amount was Rs 24,356 crore with banks and Rs 24,586 crore with insurance companies, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat Karad said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
