You might be wondering what a home inspection is for. Well, it’s to make sure that you know everything about your potential new house before moving in! The inspector won’t check if the market value or local code compliance of each individual room- they only care how well informed YOU will BE after knowing all these details through an examination on thoroughness alone (and don’t worry; there’s no such thing as failing one).
What to Expect from a Home Inspection?
The home inspector will be checking the roof and foundation of your house. They’ll take a close look at what’s inside, making sure nothing is left out! The report may even have pages upon pages worth information in it – but don’t worry because no matter how big or small an issue turns up there are always things that can go unchanged to fix them later on down the line (think about all those DIY tutorials).
What do I do with a bad inspection report?
You may be aware of some issues prior to a home inspection, but if the report comes back loaded with negatives you hadn’t prepared for and more importantly don’t panic. You can negotiate your way out or fix things up before closing so that sale price will go through! You can also request a Repair Estimate Report when you order your inspection which is a separate additional report (provided by a third party) that provides you with the estimated cost of repairs on all of the items listed in your home inspection report summary.
