Dextrin appears as white, yellow or brown flowing powder. Dextrin of relatively small molecular weight is completely soluble in water to form viscous slurry; dextrin with relatively large molecular mass is not completely soluble in water. Dextrin is a general term for substances that have been polymerized by glycosidic bonds of several alpha-glucose molecules. Dextrins are a type of starch, and as the name suggests, indigestible dextrin resists digestion.
