How does an electric guitar work?
If we compare electric guitars with folk guitars, we will know that they have several important things in common. Both folk and electric guitars have six guitar strings, and they all use the tuning buttons to adjust the tone, and the neck has a character. Downward from the end of the body is where the main difference is found.
The most popular electric guitar has a solid fiddle. The sound is produced by the pickup and controlled by several knobs. If the electric guitar is not plugged into the guitar amp, the sound will hardly be heard. Without the soundboard and hollow box, there is no medium that can amplify the vibration of the strings.

First, the first step: the vibrating string passes through the magnetic field of the bar magnet in the pickup, and a signal is generated in the pickup coil to generate an electronic current. The current generated by the electric guitar sensing the vibration of the string passes the electronic signal to the amplifier and speaker. The induction takes place in a magnetic pickup mounted under the strings of the guitar.
We know that coils and magnets can convert electrical energy into kinetic energy. Similarly, kinetic energy can also be converted into electrical energy. For electric guitars, the vibrating steel string will vibrate accordingly in the magnetic field of the magnet, thereby generating a vibrating current in the coil.
Step 2: The coil of the pickup sends a signal through a simple circuit. The variable resistor can adjust the tone, which is what we call the Tone knob. The resistor (usually a maximum of 500 kiloohms) and a capacitor (the maximum of 0.02 microfarads) form a simple low-pass filter. The filter will filter out higher frequencies. By adjusting the resistor, you can control the cut-out frequency.
The second resistor (usually a maximum of 500 kohms) controls the amplitude (volume) of the signal arriving at the output, which is what we call the volume knob, and finally the signal flows from the jack to the amplifier.
Many electric guitars have two or three different pickups in different positions on the body. Each pickup will have a unique sound, and multiple pickups can be paired in phase or out of phase to produce other changes.
