How Guidance Interactive Helped Hoonigan Merch
https://www.hooniganmerch.com/ are many things that you can do to help with your ecommerce sales and your website. For example, you can create a custom built van to carry your merchandise around to different locations or you can create a tiered promotion that populates in your cart when the customer goes through the checkout process.
Creating content for the brand
Hoonigan is an automotive lifestyle brand that is more than just a t-shirt logo. They have built a global community of motorsports fans. With an aggressively dedicated fan base and award-winning products, Hoonigan is a leading name in the automotive lifestyle arena.
As a lifestyle brand, Hoonigan is constantly pushing the limits of what is possible. Their product line includes apparel, clothing, automotive parts and live events. The company also offers its own library of franchise content for fans to enjoy.
Hoonigan is based out of California and has a large, passionate fan base. Its audience is primarily based in the US, Canada and Australia. But with the popularity of the Gymkhana franchise, the brand is expanding its online presence.
Hoonigan Merch was in need of a new website that would better integrate ecommerce. In addition, they wanted to present their content in a way that resembled an on-demand video service. Guidance Interactive helped the company with this challenge.
Creating a website that can handle the traffic it would drive
Hoonigan is a brand you may have heard of. In fact, Hoonigan sells a wide variety of automotive parts, including aftermarket car modifications. They also offer a smattering of custom merch. However, they wanted to woo their fan base with a prize. After a successful race weekend, Hoonigan wanted to reward its fans with some free swag. While a free gift is nothing to sneeze at, they needed a website that could handle the traffic. Luckily, they found a partner that could provide them with the solution.
The company’s old website was an uninspired transactional blotch. On top of that, the website was plagued with numerous broken links. Fortunately, Hoonigan knew they needed an upgrade and chose Shopify as the new home of the show. As a first step, they migrated their data from their existing system to the new sexy SaaS.
Creating tiered promotions to populate in the cart only at checkout
One of our customers, Hoonigan Merch, sells custom merch and automotive parts. They also offer YouTube videos, live events, and car builds. To enhance their online presence, Hoonigan needed to integrate ecommerce. And they turned to Guidance Interactive to do just that.
With their new website, Hoonigan had an opportunity to expand the quantity of their video content. But, it was important to make the presentation authentic. That’s why they turned to Guidance to design and implement a visually captivating site that would stand out from the competition.
The first step in the process was creating a fun visual design that mirrored the Gymkhana video series. The second step was to set up the correct tiers for the promotion.
The ‘gold sticker’ is a collection of products that are only visible once a customer has activated a specific promotional campaign. These items can’t be found on the sitemap, but they do show up in the shopping cart.
Creating a custom-built van to carry merchandise
When it came time to find a new vessel for carrying Hoonigan merchandise, the crew looked for a vehicle that would have the versatility to take on a burnout. They decided to go with a van.
Dennis, a Colorado native who owns Attitude Hot Rods, was a fan of Volkswagen buses, but he needed something that was more powerful. Initially, Dennis was planning on modifying the front suspension, but decided that it would be easier to make the entire van faster by installing a Chevy 400 CI engine.
The Van-oonigan is a 1969 Chevy P10 step van that has been converted into a sales wagon. The interior features a custom side panel with fabric graphics from a Porsche livery, as well as Walter Rohrl signatures. It also has a surfboard rack to carry a 6’8″ skate deck.
Increasing content consumption and driving ecommerce sales
Hoonigan Cloth is a leading automotive lifestyle brand that produces an impressive array of content. They have a YouTube empire of over 7.5 million subscribers and almost 1 billion views. The brand also boasts multiple awards and accolades. It’s no surprise that they had a need to build a new site that could handle the influx of traffic. But the challenge was to integrate their rich video content and ecommerce tools.
Using Shopify, Guidance Interactive built a custom functionality to help Hoonigan create, store, and deliver their content. Their team made use of the aforementioned most notable items and built a near-infinite scalability template. And while there are many ecommerce platforms available, Hoonigan chose Shopify because of its proven track record.
The Shopify website was not only optimized for mobile, but it also featured the aforementioned ecommerce tools. In the spirit of the aforementioned, Guidance created a page templates that seamlessly wove together the product and content.
