During the ’80s, Queen experimented with more pop elements but kept their signature sound. The result was an array of stadium filling sing-alongs and radio hits including 1980’s Flash Gordon, 1982’s Hot Space, 1985’s The Works, 1986’s A Kind of Magic and 1989’s Innuendo, the final album recorded before lead singer Freddie Mercury died in November 1991.

It’s no surprise that after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, commemorative items bearing her likeness have been in high demand. However, it might be a little surprising to learn that merchants selling royal merchandise near Buckingham Palace aren’t stocking items with King Charles III’s face on them yet.

One merchant tells Morning Brew that they aren’t stocking Charles-themed products because they think it might be inappropriate to celebrate him while the nation is in mourning for his mother. Another says that he tried to sell Charles-themed merchandise about a month ago but it didn’t sell. He says the market might not be ready for it just yet.
