What Is High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)?
HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) is a video compression standard that achieves better compression than its predecessor, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, through advanced coding techniques. This results in higher quality video at lower bitrates or lower file sizes for the same quality. It is widely adopted by the video industry, but requires more processing power to decode than H.264.
