What is an Opal Doublet?

Opal Doublet is an expensive gem with a type of collection of gemstones composed of two layers with a piece of translucent opal and a part of black or dark opal. It is formed from the mixture of silicon dioxide and water. And flowing water from so long in the earth’s interior gets fused with silica that comes from sandstone.

That water extends the cracks and crevices from the rock and water disappears through vapour and its left silica deposit. And its cycle keeps repeating, which is how opal is formed. The dark backing is mainly made up of glass and is primarily used in industrial, brown ironstone hard plastic.
