Welcome The Unwelcome

This First Nations grassroots initiative is dedicated to advancing and advocating for the human rights of LGBTQIA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities across the Cape York Peninsula. Guided by a human rights lawyer and photographer, the project utilises contemporary portraiture and narrative storytelling to celebrate cultural identity and lived experiences, while critically challenging enduring colonial perspectives. With a primary focus on Far North Queensland and a growing international presence, the initiative also channels proceeds from its work back into the community, fostering economic self-determination and creating lasting, meaningful social impact.
